It wasn’t the first piece of sea glass jewelry she’s received but with each new gem she was slowly, over the years collecting quite the treasure trove of decorations for herself. This one was unique. Truly unique!
It’s composed of lattice work of sterling silver, rimmed with .5 carats of clear, round cut diamonds and at the center, shining like the magical light of Neptune’s grotto, is a circular, almost spherical, marble-like orb of emerald green sea glass. How was it made? Who knows? How could the ocean so perfectly tumble, roll, shape, soften and yet gently coddle this tiny sphere for days, months, maybe years, and yet not crack it?
There it hung, perfect in its imperfection. Given for no particular reason, nor for a particular occasion. Set against the backdrop of her soft skin tone, this sea gem spoke volumes of the deep love they shared. And yet, its mysteries were locked tightly within the microscopic flaws of its beginnings.
